Lol, I've tried the other side of the fence. Its now Google's turn. Material design is a much more thought out release than iOS 7. I guarantee you would like the new Apps that Google has released. I'm not a fanboy either, but I'm waiting for iOS to become a much more customizable system...

We don't need or want iOS stuff, lol. Get the maps away from us. iOS doesn't have all of the Google apps, for example Google Keep and Google Play Music for iPad.

If you buy the Apple Watch and don't have an iPhone, you're going to have to buy an iPhone to make the Apple Watch work. So instead of just the cost of a watch, you're going to have to get an iPhone as well (pushing the cost up) for functionality of both devices to work.

For its capabilities as a first generation Apple Watch, I would say that it is overpriced, but I mean this is Apple. I'm not sure what more you could do or what features you could add to it though. It will certainly appeal to those interested in making fashion statements, but its going to grow...

I don't have a credit card on my account. I download free Google Play promotions all the time. Like Lord of the Rings Fellowship of the Ring HD for free last month. This may be the case for other phone manufacturers, but I have always been able to download paid apps, books, music, and movies...
