    I don't think dongles are the problem, I think the problem is that the industry is just too slow to adopt new standards. If we had mice and usb sticks are hard drives using usb-c or thunderbolt 3, there would be no problem with the new MacBook Pro.

    Unless you want 2 hour battery life, 32 Gb or more is not really feasible at the moment.

    I always appreciate when stores extend the return period. It makes it easier to buy when theee is a sale and not worry about the person not liking it.

    I think the real problem isn't the dongels; it is that accessory makers haven't adopted the new usb-c technology fast enough.

    I don't know about alienated, but they have made the decision that consistent refreshes for the pro market is no longer what they are interested in doing.
