Although the Apple site says could arrive by 24th many sites say it won't ship until 24th. Apple definitely does not want it arriving before the App Store opens.

I went back and forth: scratch "proof" or shatter " proof" and in the end could not justify the extra $200. With the applecare+ and several new bumper products on kick starter I'm sure the sport will be fine.

The buckle looks nice- more like a watch should look. However, the sport looks pretty secure with that peg and tuck under to hold it down. If the extra cost isn't an issue I would go buckle.

Search cydia for clearlocknotifications. You pull down on lock screen to clear and it clears everything in notifications too. It's free. Not sure about all badges but don't think it clears mail badge.

Got my new bill and it already had the upgrade fee. However I don't have the phone ( yet). Called the 611 # and AT&T took the fee off for my "inconvenience". If its shipped to your house she said at least one more week. "They are trickling in", she said.

I noticed during a sync that " private browsing data" was syncing to iTunes during one of the steps. Have you noticed this? Is this routine data gathering to improve iTunes and iOS?

Regarding 4S back orders I called AT&T and they said the last update they had was oct 14 at which time it was going to be 3-4 more weeks for back orders.
