    iphone T-Mobile vs Virgin Mobile

I'd like to know that too. T-Mobile US store told me yesterday that my UK iPhone 5 will only get 2G speeds on their network because "their network doesn't know my phone"... Doesn't sound technologically accurate.

    SGP Glas.t screen protector

The SGP Glas.T is fantastic. Why would you bother with it over a plastic/vinyl screen protector? In my experience, every screen protector I've ever used has added an element of resistance when moving my finger around the screen. Vinyl one's (Bodyguardz, Invisibleshield, etc) seem to have add a...

Convert A1429 GSM to A1429 CDMA?

So, the A1429 version of the iPhone 5 is going to have CDMA and GSM hardware in it, but if you buy it in Europe they are going to load a version of iOS that disables the CDMA functionality. Annoying for us Europeans who travel to the US regularly and would like to use LTE when there. Once a...

    Verizon iPhone 5?

Who told you that you don't need to be a Verizon customer to buy a Verizon iPhone in store? I've been doing a lot of research on this as I'd like to buy a prepaid Verizon iPhone 5 for exporting to the UK, but have been told by multiple forum users there is no such thing. You can only buy a...

US Delivery time now 2 weeks

Just managed to get into the US Apple Store using incognito mode in Chrome and saw that the delivery time is 2 weeks now. That was when I selected the Black 32GB but I think it said 2 weeks for all capacities

How to get past the "WE'LL BE BACK" screen and get your iPhone 5

Fausty - that worked first time, thanks for the tip! Incognito on Chrome went straight in!

How to get past the "WE'LL BE BACK" screen and get your iPhone 5

Same "We'll be back" page even following those instructions unfortunately. (Went to "We'll be back" after step 2, never got step 3)

Any unlocked 5's on US Apple Store?

Thanks Fausty, I had heard that but was ever hopeful. Can anyone remember how long it was before unlocked 4S's were available through the US Apple Store? My US colleague is coming to the UK on 10/8/12 so was hoping to have it delivered by then so he can bring it... I know, wishful thinking.

Any unlocked 5's on US Apple Store?

Can anyone whose managed to get to the US Apple Store tell me if there were unlocked iPhone 5's available, or do you have to select a carrier and a tariff? Hoping to get an unlocked iPhone 5 for use in the UK. Thanks Macca

    Factory unlocked?

If you compare the order page for the iPhone 5 in the US and UK two differences suggest the UK will be sim-free: 1) The price. Yes we normally pay more but $199+ compared to ?529+ suggests this is the off-contract price 2) The US site lists the carriers you will be able to buy the phone on from...

Is the A1429 both GSM and CDMA capable?

For some reason Apple lists three different cellular versions of the new iPhone 5 on the tech specs page but only uses two different model numbers; A1428 & A1429. If you look carefully at the CDMA A1429 you'll notice that it lists all the GSM technologies and frequencies as well. So does this...

    UK and US Price

The price on the US Apple website is exclusive of tax. Most people in the US will then have to pay a sales tax of 6-9% on top of that depending on what state they're in (makes our 20% VAT look like a joke!). That still doesn't account for the full price difference. I guess shipping from china...

    Factory unlocked?

Purely price. The 16GB unlocked 5 is going to be ?529 ($850). Typically the price goes up by ?100 per storage increment making the 64GB unlocked 5 $1170!!! My colleague who is coming over is based in one of the sales tax free states (New Hampshire I think) so $849 versus $1170 is a big incentive!
