I don't look at it like that. Apple made a stellar messaging app and incorporated the ability to use the industry standard SMS to support those that didn't have iPhones. That is no different than what Google did in the past, and presently. Google Messages uses a highly customized version of RCS...

Yes they do. I don't see Google Messaging, the one that uses Google's version of RCS, available in the app store. Maybe Apple doesn't allow it, but I can get WhatsApp, Facebook Messaging, Signal, so don't think that is the case.

Have to figure that Apple rolling over on this, might mean they feel they are just a little culpable.

What people are forgetting is that, while Google has taken the core of RCS, they have patched and extended it way beyond the GSM standard. The standard doesn't even yet support encryption. The standard version Apple is implementing won't support any of the enhancements Google has developed...

Same here RE Savings Account. I have wondered what the benefit to GS has been. I haven't paid a cent of interest on my Apple purchases, and that's all I use it for. That's how banks make money, so I imagine GS isn't happy with me, unless Apple is kicking in some profit for them.

It is notable that neither the trackpad nor keyboard got USB C either. Arguably those would not be any significant redesign. There is plenty of room.
