From what I understand from reading the policy, the $199 only comes in to play now if a) you lose the phone b) completely damage it (crush it or something) or c) defect after one year warranty has expired.

According to their website, screen’s are replaced the same day depending on your location by approved tech. To be honest I hope I don’t have to test that process!!

I usually do AppleCare but I took out the Verizon plan this time because a) crack screen replacement is the same cost as apple $29 (it was $49 with Verizon) and if I lose my $1000+ iPhone it’s only $199 for a refurbished unit, Apple doesn’t cover lost or stolen? So I’m I missing something...

Ok finally got mine working, two things I had to do was change Siri to English (United States), I'm British but living in the US so mine was set to United Kingdom. Then I went into about and there was a carrier update, did the update and restated the phone (it doesn't ask) but I did it anyways...
