I have both and have read on both, but I'd say the 9.7 is more for reading, and the 12.9 for viewing/drawing/work. Both are great (as far as a tablet goes) for listening.

I have the Smart Keyboard for the 12.9, but don't like it well enough to get one for the 9.7. Too floppy. Too origami. Anyone know of a great keyboard case WITH BACKLIT KEYS that's come out? Don't want cheap. Want rigid, well-balanced, function keys, and backlighting.

I have the 12.9 and 9.7 Pro iPads. I bought Apple's Smart Keyboard Case for the 12.9. Don't like it at all. Terrible on your lap, no backlighting, no function keys, and a flip-floppy mess that you have to origami every time you do something with it...and for the privilege of getting that, we pay...
