I'm glad it worked out for you. My best guess is that there was someone at the trade in facility who was found to be stealing phones, claiming boxes were empty, who processed your phone (may have even been your phone he was caught with).

The iPhone Mini is a bit smaller than the iPhone SE (iPhone SE 5.45x2.65x0.29 inches, iPhone 12 Mini 5.18x2.53x0.29 inches). It is quite a bit smaller than the iPhone 11 (5.94x2.98x.33 inches).

When there was a difference between the modems used between the Verizon/Sprint and AT&T/T-Mobile phones, I'd go unlocked. Since then, I've been getting the carrier version. From what I can see, it makes no difference other than having a SIM card in the phone already.

Re: E Sim and 5G I think there is a real advantage to having this year's Qualcomm modem, compared to the Apple modems the last few years. And, if you get some form of 5G (such as the low-band T-Mobile I'm getting) then it is just that much sweeter.
