Did you set it up with a passcode? That message usually appears when someone has attempted to use a wrong passcode too many times in a row. (Something I learned when my 3 year old twins were playing with my phone.)

Any particular reason why? This is actually my first used Apple product (although it's mint condition, in original case, with all accessories plus a smart cover) but it was a great experience and I saved a few hundred dollars.

I'm picking up a used one later today that comes with a smart cover...save a bit now and then might sell it again later if I really needed the 2nd gen for some reason, but I suspect I'll be happy with this one for a while.

I definitely think it's the best phone for people who aren't tech-savvy—BUT not because it's "dumbed down" or can't do all the things more tech-savvy people DO want to do. That, to me, is the great trick of the iPhone: it's interface is accessible to people new to the platform, but dig a little...

One of the reasons I use Apple Pay as often as I can is how secure it is—especially in America, where so many places still use the ancient card-swiping terminals. With Apple Pay I feel much better protected since my actual card info/account number is never exposed.

Unless you really need a 15", I'd go for a 2016 13".

-Open Contacts and make a contact with all the information you want to share for yourself. -Open Settings>Contacts>My Info and choose the contact card you made in step one.

If you have multiple iOS devices set up for iMessage you might find messages enabled on both a phone and a family iPad for instance...personally wouldn't do it though.

Just updated last night on a 2011 MBP. Surprisingly smooth so far, and no fans/overheating issues.
