After more than 15 years covering everything Apple, it’s with a heavy heart we announce that we will no longer be publishing new content on iMore and the iMore forums will be closing as of November 1st, 2024.
I started having weird battery issues with my X before I sold it. It said it still had 100% capacity, but life kept getting shorter. We're talking used to be able to get home from work with 70ish percent, going to coming home with 50% most recently. It was the oddest behavior I've ever had with...
I place mine right at 12am PST and still got pushed back. That was even though the order screen and email both said by 9/21. Apple couldn't explain why it changed.
Mine is in the same bulk shipment as yours. Confirmed delivery for Monday. Disappointed I didn't get it today considering I placed my order at 2:04 am CST, but I guess Monday is good enough
Apple is usually good about that. He probably just didn't want to get in trouble which is why he said 'oh its fine'. After getting a 3 year old MacBook Pro replaced with a brand new one, I'm more than wiling to sing the praises of their customer service.
Loose home button?
Tried that. The 'genius' swore they were all the same. And it's odd because the iPad and iPod touch I have have really firm and nicely clicky home buttons. The best way to describe my 5s is mushy.
I also remembered that the genius tried to tell me that I would think it...
Loose home button?
That is EXACTLY the issue. I have also noticed that it doesn't do it when the phone is in my pocket and warm. (Which makes me think its an adhesive issue)
It hasn't been bothering me too much, but that's mainly because I've been busy at work and not on my phone too much.
Black. I had a white iPad in the past and it just doesn't work for me with the big screen. With the black the focus is on the screen and not the bezel around it.
Got mine today. Definitely feels a bit smoother than the iPad 3. The biggest difference seems to be power draw though. It definitely seems to not hit the battery as hard as the 3 did, which I didn't expect. Almost got the mini, but I figured I could use the 4 until the retina mini comes out.
Don't know if anyone caught this, but with the 4 the official charger has been bumped to 12W from 10W. Got mine today, and that was the first thing I noticed. Surprised I haven't seen anything about it, since its a pretty clear acknowledgement that the 10W wasn't powerful enough.
