I would not count on Best Buy's system to alert you when available. Best bet is to check manually. They have shown up on Best Buy a few times over the past month or so. That's how I got mine... checked in the morning and it was available.

As of this post, Best Buy has the Apple Pencil in stock for expedited delivery by next Wednesday.
