Seriously?! That's ridiculous. I honestly wonder if the behavior is intentional, because they should've had it fixed many versions ago, back before public release even.

Why is this still a thing? it always worked in every iOS version before 10 and now when typing on a forum in Safari one must advance the text box manually. Reminds me of typing on a broken typewriter that won't advance itself.
