I'm using the tethered JB on both my iPad and my iPhone 4 and haven't had any problems so far.

I was hesitant about JB'ing mine on 4.2. untethered but I did it finally about a month ago and haven't looked back once. You rarely turn the iPad off completely, so the inconvenience is minimal. The only problem I've had was a friend switching it off by accident, and I just rebooted it back up.
