After more than 15 years covering everything Apple, it’s with a heavy heart we announce that we will no longer be publishing new content on iMore and the iMore forums will be closing as of November 1st, 2024.
Yes, it works right away. You have to go into the app and pick your settings for each type of notification......texts, missed calls, etc.
Preference Settings:
Use Statusbar icon: select ON
Repeat mode: select Always on
Work interval: pick what hours you want the notifications to occur i.e...
If you are jailbroken, you can get an app called Notifier thru Cydia. It provides the audio beep for missed calls, voicemail, texts, emails, etc until you acknowledge it. Works great.
Would u happen to have ActivateMMS2G installed? That thing drained my battery in about 6 hrs as well. After I uninstalled it, battery went back to lasting 2-3 days w/light normal use.
FYI - In a conversation I had recently had with one of the TMo CSRs, I asked if there were any plans to enable iPhone users to be able to use the 3G feature on our phones and I was told to look out for something during the 1st qtr of next year. He implied that they were working on something to...
@Nht: Dont bother trying to downgrade to the $10 Web-to-Go plan; it wont work with your iPhone. There are still some legacy users who already had this plan or it's predecessor, T-Zones, but TMo has a plan to phase out all the smartphone users from using these plans. Eventually anyone still...
@jaewoot:
You will be able to use an unlocked 3G or 3GS assuming it's < 3.1) on TMo with the correct smartphone data plan, 3G mode turned off and the correct APN data settings. Just call them.....they will help you.
And Yes, everything will work....email, web, apps, etc.
No,you wont be...
1.Try using Redsn0w 8.0
2.Make sure you check the box to Unlock since you're on a 2G, otherwise it's going to look for an active ATT SIM card to activate the phone.
3.Use iTunes 8.2.x, not 9.0.
Hope this helps. Good Luck!
If you need any help seting up the phone with TMo, just call Cust Service and ask for their PDA Support. They have CSR's who specifically support the iPhone. The ironic thing is that they are way more friendly and helpful than any ATT rep will ever be and it's not even their phone. LOL
I am with TMo and have used both the 2G and the 3G models with them.
Like the OP said, with the 3G, you just disable the 3G mode.
You need to get the correct Smartphone data plan, it's $25.
Had a BB Curve 8320 with TMobile. Loved the phone....then I got an iPhone and I'll never use another phone again. Nothing even remotely comes close to an iPhone!
