I'm a developer. This keyboard is called the "Alert Keyboard". It's one that pops up when an app needs immediate attention and an input from the user. I don't know if they'd use this keyboard specifically but a darker keyboard in the messages app would be very nice!

Hopefully it's an OTA. They may try to restrain it to Wi-Fi only in a future 5.0 update just so people don't mistakenly go over their data caps.

I agree with unifying the URL box and Search box. They did it with Safari in Mountain Lion, don't see why they couldn't do the same.
