iPhone stuck in constant state of reboot

Mac, and I've tried both QuickPwn and Pwnage Tool. In theory, either is all you need, but as described above, neither works for a few of us. I wonder if anyone out there has successfully Pwned a 1G iPod.

iPhone stuck in constant state of reboot

Yeah, it's a different firmware, but I've been using their tools that supposedly work with iPod Touch.

iPhone stuck in constant state of reboot

Man, I wish I had good news for you. I gave up, and have just been using the locked Apple firmware. My wife has a 1st gen iPhone, and when I tried to unlock it I was shocked that it was easy, fast, and everything went as planned. My guess is that there's a problem in the dev. team's unlocked...

iPhone stuck in constant state of reboot

Just another update for anyone who may find this thread later: First I followed jayman30's example and uninstalled all 3rd-part apps from my iPod Touch (1st Gen). Then I carefully looked at the official release of QuickPwn/PwnageTool 2.2, where they seemed to feel that a 1st Gen iPod Touch...

iPhone stuck in constant state of reboot

Thanks for the follow-up report! I'm still waiting for a release of an unlocked iPod Touch (1st Gen) 2.2 firmware. Stock 2.2 is worth more to me than an unlocked 2.1, at this point. Thanks again!

When the QuickPwn OS X tutorial goes wrong

Still no luck, but here's the link for every firmware released so far, it seems: iPhone Firmware Files | iPhone News, Help and Guides (Just in case anyone stumbles upon this thread, and is looking for what I was looking for.)

When the QuickPwn OS X tutorial goes wrong

So I've googled a lot, and I'm not sure what I'm looking for. Am I looking for the official 2.1 firmware, or a jailbroken firmware? Also, doesn't QuickPwn create its own firmware? I know it's from a different site, and thus Bad Ash's dogmatic defense of tutorials doesn't apply, but here...

When the QuickPwn OS X tutorial goes wrong

I am glad that you saw that flaw in my methodology. Does anyone know of a 1st-generation iPod touch jailbroken firmware?

iPhone stuck in constant state of reboot

If you've never had an issue with jailbreaking, could you help me out and tell me where I've gone wrong, then? Because I followed 2 iPod Touch guides -- 1st generation, v2.1 firmware -- and they both tell me different things. How could those both work, if followed properly? I've been obsessed...

I cannot get quickpwn 2.1 to work!!! HELP!!!!!!

So how do we keep iTunes from opening in Mac OS? I've turned off auto-sync but I'm still having QuickPwn hang at the progress bar. ?!

When the QuickPwn OS X tutorial goes wrong

QuickPwn vs. iTunes.... Update: I thought that I'd give QuickPwn another try, since it seems to have worked for most people. What happens is that when I get to the progress bar step, iTunes automatically opens, doesn't detect the iPod, and QuickPwn apparently loses its connection with the...

When the QuickPwn OS X tutorial goes wrong

So I've been trying to jailbreak my 1st generation iPod Touch for about 12 hours now. I've searched through this thread and haven't found the info I'm looking for, so if it's been covered in another post, please redirect me to the link. If it hasn't been discussed, I respectfully submit my...

I cannot get quickpwn 2.1 to work!!! HELP!!!!!!

Yeah, I'm having a similar problem: in Mac 10.4.11, QuickPwn hangs at step 8 in the tutorial, when there's a progress bar and a dialog saying "Sending WTF...." The last entry in the log says "2008-11-20 03:05:04 - Successfully built Quickpwn Ramdisk file." but its been 8 hours since then. I'm...

Quickpwn crashes when I get to a crucial stage!
