    Don't see the point..

This is exactly what the marketors are looking for. They sell you on what you want. Not what you need. It's a marketing genious to put the "i" infront of all the apple products.Especically in this "I" want world.

    Don't see the point..

I agreed with you. The Retina display is a nice to have; not a must have have on a 7" tablet. The whole Retina thing was a huge marketing term made up by apple. It is like the TV's 1080P. All the marketing say, you must have 1080P. Well not really, a lot of people were buying TV smaller than...

    Help me choose!

You must have tons of cash, $300 difference is more than a few bucks.

    Help me choose!

In comparison to the Apple apps store, it is very light. But it comes down to what you want the tablet for. For what the OP wants, it does it very well. I actually bought a 32G playbook for my teenage son during a Walmart sale of $118. He has over 300 apps and games installed on the thing. I...

    Help me choose!

If you have tons of money to throw around and don't mind tying yourslef to Itune then go for the Mini. If you want the best value to do all the things you mentioned, then go for the Blackberry Playbook it's only $149 for a 32G.

iPad Mini vs Kindle Fire HD

I wonder what the long term health affect is going to be with children spending too much time on these devices. Hhhmmm.....

iPad Mini vs Kindle Fire HD

I agree with the above posts. You can't choose base on specs and OS. If it was true, then the Blackberry Playbook would be the best selling tablet. Especially at $129 for the WiFi version. It really depend on what you are going to use it for. I bought the playbook for my 12 year son because...

    Ipad mini price!!!! Horrible

You are missing the point. I'm not saying the Apple Mini is better. Apple is selling (marketing) the Apple experience. This is what premium brand cars have been doing for decades. Unlike PC, comparing tablets base on specs is useless because they are running different OS and have different...

    Ipad mini price!!!! Horrible

I was not comparing tech to a car. I was just trying to point out the similarity of paying a premium for a brand. In this case Apple and BMW. People are willing to pay the premuim for the status and perceived benefit of the "Experience." - - - Updated - - - But it is not an Apple.

Did the iPad 4 come to soon?

I don't think Apple have a lot of choice but to release IPAD4 now. The competitions are chipping away at Apple's market with better spec tablets at a lower price point. Apple's response is with a tablet with higher specs. Apple also responded to the sub $300 tablets with the mini. All of this...

    Ipad mini price!!!! Horrible

I disagree. Apple market themselves as a premium brand. You pay premium for the "Experience" . Just like buying a BMW. Except the "Experience" in this case is the privilege of buying more stuff(apps, music, accessories etc) from Apple's HUGH store.

    Very upset ipad 4

You forgot that a lot of people pay the premium for the IPAD thinking that they have "the latest and greatest". In reality , they pay a premium for the privilege of buying apps from the vast app store. With IPAD4, the app store is still there.

    iPad mini price

I don't think the price is too high. Apple have always market their product as the "Experience". So you expect to pay a premium for that "Experience". What they don't tell you is that you are expected to pay between $100-$200 premium for the privilage to buy from their large selection of apps...
