    Homekit Door Lock

Only true if you want to use the August app. Once you add the lock to HomeKit, and you have an Apple TV 4 to act as your home gateway, you can access it from anywhere. The August Connect is only required to connect your August lock directly to your home WiFi and give you remote access using...

Should I convert from an iPad2 to iPad Pro and why?

iPad Pro 9.7 is much faster than the archaic iPad 2, better in every way from that generation iPad. Anyone with an iPad Air or older device should seriously consider the iPad Pro 9.7 upgrade. That said, individual use cases are important. It was a great upgrade for me, YMMV.

    IPad Pro 9.7 unsolicited reboot

I see you're running the latest betas in your iPhone and Watch. Have you considered installing it on your iPad to see if that fixes this issue?

    IPad Pro 9.7 unsolicited reboot

Yes, I've also noted that my iPad Pro 9.7" spontaneously reboots every day or so. These reboots typically only take 10 seconds or so. I've assumed there was something in my old iPad Air backup I used to transfer its data to my new iPad Pro 9.7" that was causing the issue, but I didn't want to...

    Apple Pencil Issues

The Pencil uses a Bluetooth connection, subject to all the vagaries of Bluetooth. I too find my Pencil doesn't always reconnect with my iPad Pro 9.7". You don't want the connection to always be live, or you'll drain the battery when you're not using it. So, when I want to use my Pencil, it's...

From Air 2 to 9.7" Pro...why? Any regrets?

The new iPad Pro 9.7" is an amazing machine, and stands head and shoulders above the iPad Air and earlier models in both speed and features. However, if you're using an iPad Air 2 you may regret your purchase. It will not be substantially faster and your iPad Air 2 will certainly run the...

Apple Watch backup does not save Activity data

I believe your activity data is stored within the Activity app on your iPhone. When you switched to a difference iPhone, your Watch's activity app would have populated with whatever was in the Activity app on that iPhone. If you re-pair with your other iPhone, your latest Activity data will be...

Purchase through Apple or Carrier (Verizon)?

I prefer to buy directly from Apple, then just swap out the older model from my AT&T Family Share plan. Since I purchased directly from Apple, my device is unlocked (and can be used on any carrier after resale), so I don't have to submit a special request at the end of a purchase contract. I...

Should I buy an iPad Pro 9.7?

Re: should i buy an iPad pro 9.7" Anything older than the iPad Air 2 should have a noticeable performance improvement. I upgraded from a two year old iPad Air, and love the improvements and features (e.g., split screen, more RAM, faster CPU, more storage, Pencil support, four speakers, etc.)...

First impressions of 9.7" iPad Pro Smart Keyboard Cover

Time for AppleCare call. I've never had my Smart Keyboard software disconnect from my iPad Pro 9.7".

iPad 9.7 Pro bricked by 9.3.2, is there a solution?

Re: ipad 9.7 pro bricked by 9.3.2 is there a solution? The iOS 9.3.2 update went fine on my iPad Pro 9.7", so it's not a given that updating your new device will fail. Waiting to hear more is a good plan, but I wouldn't be overly concerned otherwise.

    Newbie Question

Note that the iPad is an always on device, serving you notifications and forwarding calls from your configured iPhone, if you ever get one. There's no danger of screen burn in. You can set the auto-lock time by going to Settings/General/Auto-Lock.

My iPad Pro 9.7 128gb takes around 25 seconds to boot up, is this normal?

Re: My ipad pro 9.7 128gb takes around 25 seconds to boot up I just tested mine. It took 20 seconds to reboot from an off status. I never shut mine down, as a rule, so this is is essentially irrelevant, but thought I'd share.

    iPad Pro 9.7 screen flickering

I have noticed some screen brightening/dimming as my hands block out some light, but no flickering.

    True Tone?

I also took my iPad Pro 9.7" out into the bright sunlight and found I could actually read it, so yes, this is an amazing display.
