As to your first question, yes, the google services work fine on iOS. There are free apps you can download to use everything from documents to google voice and google+. If you set up your email as an exchange account, you'll even get push notifications on the iPhone.
And the cases will fit if they are listed as being compatible with the Verizon model. There is a slight difference in the location and size of some of the buttons on it, as compared to the AT&T model. The new iPhone 4s is identical to the Verizon model, so just make sure you pick up a case that worked for it and you're good!
