I've tried these instructions, and the problem I'm having, which I assume OP is having as well, is that the live button does not show up on the photo in the Facebook app when you're about to post it.

Looks like there are no apps that do this yet. I was expecting Panera to be available already (as demoed at WWDC), but nothing yet...

Why do you keep saying "Camera Roll"? There is no camera roll with iCloud Photo Library....

But as I said, I don't want to permanently disable Google+ auto backup, because I want pictures I take now and going forward to be backed up there in addition to iCloud. I just don't want duplicates of pictures that currently exist. That's a good idea - maybe this whole thing is a non-issue...

It's iCloud Photo Library... there is no camera roll. There's 'All Photos', and what would be the point of deleting them from there if I wanted them in iCloud in the first place?

Right, that's how I can copy them over - but how can I do it while preventing duplicate uploads to Google+? See, if I just copy the photos to iCloud Photo Library, they'll sync to my phone (by design). I'm afraid that once they sync, Google Drive will see them and try to upload them all over again.
