    "The New iPad" was a funny name for a product. It should have been called the iPad 3 from the beginning but they didn't do that since it was only getting a 6 month life cycle. Makes perfect sense to me.

    I'm just assuming that's why they did it. I'd like to see if they pull this sort of thing in the future with other products. I'll be more cautious when making any purchases in the future - especially when I see funny naming conventions.

    So now we know why they called the 3rd generation "The New iPad". The 4th generation was planned for this year all along.
