I read that it may be necessary to remove profiles then reinstall them. I removed them on iPhone but they keep reappearing when I sync. How can I get rid of a profile for good? How can I delete profiles on iTunes desktop?

I'm loaded a the same developer provisioning profile & build of an application to an iPad and iPhone. The app runs fine on iPad but I get an error trying to sync to iPhone, "invalid entitlements". Any ideas?
