Flashing Apple Logo On Forced Reboot.

Just as a follow up to this, the 14.5 update “fixed” the issue. Didn’t need to erase the phone/set up as new or anything. Just applied the 14.5 update OTA. ??????

Flashing Apple Logo on Hard Reboot

I had same experience. The update to 14.5 has “fixed” the issue of the momentary flash of the Apple logo on boot/reboot for me. It now works as it always had on previous devices. Hope others have the same luck.

Flashing Apple Logo On Forced Reboot.

Oh it’s still doing it. I’m just waiting for 14.5 to drop. (Or get another beta release or two out before dipping my toe in that.)

Flashing Apple Logo On Forced Reboot.

Good to hear I’m not alone in thinking this was weird. My 11 pro max never did this (passed it on to my wife to replace an aging phone). Was beginning to think I may have made the wrong choice.

Is having cellular enabled still worth it to you?

I have it activated but don't recall ever really using it. I think my data consumption in total has been something like 0.1 GB. To me it is insurance in case something happens to my phone (lost, dropped, or the more likely, left behind at home). I didn't have high expectations for it, so for me...

So I took a chance....and got burned (or scratched).

My experience was that the iP7 scratched more easily than the 6S. I had stopped using screen protectors a number of years ago (I think the 4 or 4S was the one I stopped with). Didn't have any scratches until the 7 plus. Nothing changed in behaviors (carried in front pocket, etc.), but I got some...

SIM Free iPhone X now avaiable

I bought a Verizon model and activated it with my AT&T sim. The Apple guy at the store said as long as I bought it outright, it wouldn’t be locked. So I have an extraneous unactivated Verizon SIM lying around. Don’t know for sure, but guessing the SIM unlocked version is the “Verizon” model...

    Galaxy S8 Anyone?

If I wanted to wade back into Android, I'd go with a google branded phone or maybe a BlackBerry. Those are the ones that seems to get regular updates. I have an unlocked S7, and still no update to Nougat (Smart Switch is still not showing it despite people saying it showed up last week). Plus...

Have you noticed more people wearing an Apple Watch?

That's certainly an option. But I personally don't like wearing a watch like that for any length of time. Don't know why it annoys me so much. I'll use my phone or even a paper boarding pass, like an animal.

Have you noticed more people wearing an Apple Watch?

I see them quite a bit in airports and such. Still not a majority of watch wearers; not even close. But I do see them quite a bit more often than a year ago. I do appreciate the notifications from the airlines/other apps (App in the Air, TripIt) telling me about the gate change as I'm running...

    Watch Orientation

Usually left wrist, crown on right. I use to do the reverse crown thing, but with long sleeve dress shirts where the watch barely fits under the cuff, I found it triggering the buttons more often than having crown on right side. Maybe if I take a vacation some place warm, I'll go back to reverse...

    Which iPad Pro Keyboard???

I just got the baby Pro a couple of weeks ago. I opted for the Smart Keyboard. I'm not overly enamored with the feel of it and wish it had backlight, but I do really like that the keyboard is "hidden" when you fold it back and use in tablet mode. Much prefer that to any of the other keyboard's...

iPhone 7 or iPhone 6S Plus?

I've been a long time iOS user and part time Android user (currently have a Moto X Play (2015) and Galaxy S7). I picked up a 6s Plus the other day instead of getting/waiting for the 7. I'm not concerned about future proofing; Apple has been good about supporting devices with OS updates, and I'll...
