In fairness the v10 is over 2 years old with the most current model being the LG v30. As us iPhone users are beginning to find out, updates on older devices isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be.

You had a 12.9 before, so you know what it's like to live with. I'd say do it since there will be no difference performance-wise and you are getting extra storage in return. Just make sure your carrier will work on the new device.

I'd still purchase a note 8. Many forget that Samsung has a very good track record of making excellent devices. One hiccup will not redefine their image. That's evident in the success of the Galaxy S8. Come release time the Note 8 will prove to be just as successful as its predecessors, if not more.

Turn off the auto brightness feature then turn it back on. That should get it to work as normal.
