Why No Night Shift for Macs?

Love it on my iPhone 6S and iPad Air.
Any thoughts?

I thought Night Shift created a certain display that was unique to Apple?
You know, the blue tint that is easy on the eyes....

All Night Shift does is shift the color temperature to the warmer side of the spectrum. It's nothing specific to Apple's displays.

Yeah. I use flux on my Mac as well. Before Apple came up with the idea of night shift, a company had already made a program for that in Cydia many years before.

Night shift was not an Apple invention. Here's a reference to an Android app that did the same thing in 2013: Twilight for Android Changes Your Screen Brightness by Time of Day

Of course not. As I said before a jailbreak application called Flux has been around since the late 2000's and it was really popular so apple decided to incorporate the features into native iOS and they called it Night Shift

Apple will definitely add it eventually. I'm sure they're just working on making effective system wide.

As for the technology, I'm pretty sure it started with just glasses, probably early 90's if not 80's. I couldn't tell you though who or when it was first brought to software.

Is there an app that lets you schedule night shift mode like Apple's does? Flux doesn't see to have that option It asks me when I wake up, but not when I go to sleep ( or when want it to go into night mode )
