    Hi,

I'm considering changing from my MacBook Pro (15", Mid 2014, i7, 16GB) to a 2016 MacBook. Mainly for business travel as I find the size of my pro to big to lug on and off trains and planes. I also have the new iPad Pro 10.5 (great device). Due to my work I can sometimes use my iPad, 50% of the time I need the full OS. I do sit in my office for a few days a week and connect to an external display. Has anyone else jumped from the 'pro' to the MacBook? Have you had any issues with external displays running from an inferior spec'd machine?

I personally prefer the MBP compared to the normal 12” MacBook. It comes down to personal preference. I’d recommend visiting the Apple store and see which one you prefer.

I haven’t, but like you, I use two Apple devices for work - the MacBook Air and an iPad. Anyway, if you find the 15” MBP too cumbersome to travel with, I would consider a 13” MBP and have the extra ports instead of the MacBoo with only 1 port. Heck, I’d even recommend a MacBook Air.
