Right now my school mac is Macbook Pro 15-inch with Retina display. 2,2GHz and 8GB in memory and 517MB for graphics. I'm however realising it runs slow with the programs I use so often like Final Cut Pro, Sims 4 and etc. So i'm considering upgrading to the same mac but with 2.8GHz processor and 1TB flash storage. Is this better and will my programs run smoother? Because right now, If I run Final Cut Pro or After Effects it'll take so long before my click has action, making it very frustrating when working with high quality videos for hours cause it takes so long between each thing I do in the program to actually happen.

If it were me, I'd add more RAM instead of purchasing a whole new MacBook. Your current device should be sufficient, in my opinion.
