how to disable facetime?

I've got a Macbook pro and the operating system is Sierra. I don't use facetime at all. But It keeps notifying me to update and change the password. So I like to know is there a method to disable it so it doesn't automatically start when I boot.

I don’t know about laptops, but in the mobile apps you just go to Settings>Facetime>OFF !! I did and it hasn’t talked to me since !

On Mac, FaceTime is part of iMessage. Just log out of iMessage.
