Hello, I have a late 2016 MacBook Pro and about a week ago it just stopped recognizing the keyboard and trackpad

I was using my laptop just fine the night before I boarded a plane to London and when I got to my destination and needed to use my laptop, it just wasn’t working.

I have the latest release of macOS Mojave and my computer will work if I have a USB-C keyboard and mouse connected

When I connect a USB-C mouse and keyboard it works. I go to system preferences and when I click on trackpad, it says it’s searching for a Bluetooth connection to connect a trackpad to the computer

is is this an easy fix? Or is it gonna be super expensive to fix?

have a genious bar appointment on the 10th

It SOUNDS like a hardware issue to me. The Geniuses will know for sure. Their diagnostic should be free, then they will quote you a potential repair price (unless you have Apple Care). You pay if/when they repair the device, and IF it ends up costing more you CAN decline.
