I tried boot camping windows on my mac(40 gb partition ). What i didn't know was that when you had a external drive plugged in it would go all crazy. back on the mac side i tried removing the partition that was kind of glitches out( the minus icon was greyed out)
After searching the whole internet i stumbled across this reddit thread:

https://www.reddit.com/r/mac/comments/3bg3p0/how_to_delete_a_partition/
( can't ask a question there because it is archived)

i did everything the guy there said and almost all of it worked. my sad has a total capacity of 251 gb (http://imgur.com/iv7NS0w)but the Macintosh partition only has a capacity of 209 gb (http://imgur.com/A3sT8S6) in disk utility i can't make the partition bigger because the circle is full (http://imgur.com/kItRO7k) the guy that posted the above reddit post had the same problem and the 5HT guy showed a fix : in the terminal : diskutil resizeVolume disk0s2 R i tried that but it didn't do anything it stayed 209 gb. Now i tried another method where i had to go into recovery mode but suddenly i was immediately brought to the internet discovery screen and after it was done loading i got this : (http://imgur.com/YownZVA). and i also tried to start up bootcamp again but it gave a message : (http://imgur.com/kItRO7k) it needs 1 Partition but it is one partition there is only 40 gb of memory lost somewhere. could that problem be fixed if i the 40 gb is restored?

I am quite desperate because i already tried so many things. I hope someone on this forum can help me. if anyone who tries to help me needs more info please say so.

thank you in advance
