Hey there! How are you? A long time PC user here. Finally giving up and looking for a MacBook Pro. Read the 2017 models are coming up at the end of this year.

Current pricing for 15-inch (stock configurations) :
2016 : 2399$
2015 : 1999$

The question is,

Future pricing for 15-inch (stock configurations) :

2017 : 2399$
2016 : 1999$

<<(OR)>>

(Apple removes 2016 edition as it was the case in previous years where incremental updates didn’t coexist. Example: 2012 non-retina MacBook Pro sold even at 2015 instead of 2014, CMIW)

2017 : 2399$
2015 : ????$

Thank you

Who knows what Apple will do! We can only speculate and make guesses based on past behavior. They have often broken their own "rules". Lately they seem to be on a price raising trend (for lack of a better word, or not wanting to use a less than family forum friendly wording lol) but we can hope that will change. My "guess" would be incremental changes to the touchbar models, upgraded CPU (Kabylake maybe?), and the non Touchbar gets new CPU too (or not) and THAT becomes the new low end, prices remain the same. How much higher can they go?

As pkcable said, (this auto correct to 'packable' is driving me crazy haha)

We never know what Apple might do. I mean, they made jokes on stage about how people still own 5 year old PCs and yet they were selling a 4 Year, 6 Month old Macbook on their website at the time. lol.

I think they will just discontinue the previous 2016 model and replace it with the 2017 model. And the previous generation 2015 retina Macbook will just stay the same price. No real reason for them to drop the price. Apple doesn't like sales and discounts unless you are a student.
