I have a 15" MacBook Pro, a mid 2009 model. Works fine but could do better with an SDD upgrade. I did do a HD upgrade about 3 years ago and had to jumper a couple pins to slow the io of the drive, as it was causing kernel panics at the higher speed. Can my system support an SDD upgrade?

I have a late 2008 with an SSD and it runs great. I even swapped out the cd drive and a have second SSD drive. Best and easiest thing you could do for an older MBP.

I agree with the other comments. My 2011 MBP got an SSD a couple years ago. Easy upgrade and immediately experienced significant speed boost!
