I use mine mostly for controlling brightness and volume. It's really nice to use the slider over pressing buttons though. I use it to scrub through video as well.
    It sure is!
    It looks great too.

    I ended up getting a 2016 model:
    MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016)
Processor 2.7 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3
    Graphics
    Radeon Pro 460 4096 MB
Intel HD Graphics 530 1536 MB

And I got it for $500 less than the 2017 Cadillac model.

Now I just gotta figure out how to post images that aren't 90 degrees rotated.

Hope you like it. I could of gotten the 2016 15” model for about $400 less than what I paid but I went with the 2017 anyway.

Is it good idea to upgrade macbook pro (2013) to the newest one? I'm worried about the count of ports (only usb type-c...). Maybe some one has such experience with the upgrading?

Is your 2013 model still suiting your needs? If that’s the case then I’d stick with it. Hopefully Apple will realize that they made a mistake not including any type A USB ports on this year’s models and takes a step back next year.

Mostly I'm happy, but my model has 8gb RAM, it's not enough for my daily basis for today, when you need to run a lot of programs. Maybe in 2018 Apple will introduce some updates of macbook pro. I hope..

It seems like my sibling might upgrade from her 2012 rMBP to the new MBP with TB.
I would love to upgrade, but I can’t afford it yet.

My trusted old 2009 MacBook bit the dust, and I don't like using my work issued MacBook Air for personal use so earlier this evening, I went to a nearby Best Buy store and purchased a new 2017 model 13.3" Space Gray MacBook Pro since it was $150 off the regular price (Today is the last day of the sale). Thus far, I'm quite pleased with it.

If you would stop buying phones, consoles, monitors, etc. you could afford one. Hahaha!!!

I knew what I was buying when I purchased it and I don't have a problem buying an adapter to satisfy a port need, if that need ever arise.

I'm not a fan of the Touch Bar. Its not that I hate it, but for how I use my laptop, its not something driving me to buy the laptop in the first place. I'm kicking around the idea of getting a 2018 model, if Apple rolls out an update next month. I have the luxuray of time, so I can sit and wait to see what happens

My MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015) Apple Care runs out in November, so will probably move into a new one even though I kinda don't really want to. Buying another 2015, though, is not really in my best interests.

One possible lemon display easily scares you away? The Retina display on my 2017 MacBook Pro (non-Touch Bar model) is a sturdy as any other notebook display I’ve ever used.

Sometimes I feel sorry for my 13'' Macbook Pro 2017, because I rarely use it, my work always require me to use Windows. My younger brother suddenly wanted to become a DJ recently, and he traded his Macbook Air 2014 with my Pro, now I'm thinking about getting the new Mac, and a new JOB!!!!
