Re: How do you feel about the New MacBook Pro pricing?
It is expensive, but I have to say it is worth it. It might be underpowered in comparison to a pc you can self-assemble with the same amount of money, but you are paying for the sleek design, support from apple (without mentioning all the exclusive apps) and a small taste of the future of computing. We all agree that we don't buy Macs because of their power, but for the expertise Apple has in both software and hardware.

Yeah, but last gen's model had all of that. The TouchBar is not worth $300. It's just not. The pricing on these devices are ridiculous.

Re: How do you feel about the New MacBook Pro pricing?
This year model increase by 20% or about $350 for the $2,399 model. But then you need to buy the additional dongles for: iPhone, usb3.0, SD Card, HDMI, Displayport, etc... I say 3 dongles average throw in additional $100 and AppleCare $300.00.
With sales tax, will be close to $3K.

Re: How do you feel about the New MacBook Pro pricing?
Its pricier but in lots of ways the new Macbook is better in usage
-
Re: How do you feel about the New MacBook Pro pricing?
I think it's logical to go up the price-ladder: the industry is selling fewer and fewer PCs, so to make as much or more money they have to become more expensive. Plus: users replace them less often, so overall spending should still drop despite the price increase.

It is a shame, but Apple has never marketed their products to anyone and everyone. They make the products they think are best and whoever can buy them, does.

Re: How do you feel about the New MacBook Pro pricing?
I feel it's slightly expensive but they are a premium product and this is roughly the price they usually come out

Yeah, but Apple isn't really in the habit of discussing the old stuff. They want all the focus on the new and better.

Re: How do you feel about the New MacBook Pro pricing?
The new Macbook Pro is a lot more expensive than I thought it would be, and it only has usb C connections (well the 13 inch has lightning too I hear) so you would have to buy adapters and some of them like USB and Ethernet are probably around $20 - $30 dollars, VGA and HDMI are in the $60-$70 range, plus relative sales taxes (if applicable) on top of that. Not sure if the new MBP is a realistic purchase for me.

Re: How do you feel about the New MacBook Pro pricing?
It is quite steep. Considering switching to a PC. The spectre looks nice
-
Re: How do you feel about the New MacBook Pro pricing?
As mentioned by some people above, the HP Spectre is a compelling option at its price point. If Apple had sliced the 15" price down to the $1100-1500 range, then it's quite worth it. At the moment, though I like the concept, I don't have much of a use case of the Touch Bar, and certainly can't justify the premium to have that feature.
-
Re: How do you feel about the New MacBook Pro pricing?
And Apple's best-selling product can't even be plugged into it out of the box. What a crock!
-
Re: How do you feel about the New MacBook Pro pricing?
I wanted to max out a 15" but then I realized I could make a sweet battlestation for the same price....
-
Re: How do you feel about the New MacBook Pro pricing?
Way too expensive for my budget

"That's no MacBook Pro...It's a spacestation"
The more I think about this, the more of a disaster I think these devices are. The lack of ports make this a non-Professional computer.
Go Illini, BTW (I'm a Fossil, FYI)

I can't see Apple ever bringing a 15" laptop down to the $1100 range. If they ever do, I'll be first in line!

Agreed.

Re: How do you feel about the New MacBook Pro pricing?
Maybe I'm price sensitive, but it's just crazy that they have no updated laptop that is under $1k. The MBA has to appeal to a huge number of users if they would only update the thing...I would love a mac, but there's no way I can justify that price.
-
Re: How do you feel about the New MacBook Pro pricing?
Are you talking about the pro or just the macbook? For my use case, the macbook is spot on what I need, but even it's pricing seems crazy high.
-
Re: How do you feel about the New MacBook Pro pricing?
For the first time there a really great Windows PC on the market, and except for Microsoft, they all seem cheaper for sale specs. Now they do all come with Windows, but it makes it hard to spend money $3000 for top 15" or $2000 for top normal key 13". I know MacBook Pro is the right answer, but hard to convince the people in charge of the money at my office.

Re: How do you feel about the New MacBook Pro pricing?
expensive yeah. but i will totally agree to whoever says macbook pros are also great laptop.

Re: How do you feel about the New MacBook Pro pricing?
my macbooks are paid for by my work. don't really care :)

Considering the 2015 MacBook 12" can be had for under $1k, and it still sells (ie: was on Woot! recently), there's certainly a market for this or an MBA in the sub-$1k range.
Edit: Speaking of Woot!... https://forums.imore.com/e?link=http...token=uUcFpY90

Re: How do you feel about the New MacBook Pro pricing?
The price is "PRO" users like video editors and designers. Wish they had refreshed the MacBook Air.
-
Re: How do you feel about the New MacBook Pro pricing?
I fell like the non touch bar should be more cheaper
