Notes on MacBook doesn't appear on IPhone and vice versa

Any note created on my MacBook doesn't appears on my iphone and vice versa
what setting will make them synchronise

I'm not sure, but sometimes the sync is instant whereas other times it is not. That's been my experience with El Capitan.

Are both devices on the same iCloud account? And Notes are enabled in iCloud for both?
