Magic Mouse not fully working with 2010 MacBook Pro

AA battery Magic Mouse not fully working with 2010 MacBook Pro. I can scroll up and down, but can't move the cursor. I've turned mouse on and off, replaced batteries, reconnected the blue tooth connection, rebooted, etc. This same mouse works perfectly with my new Macbook 12. I'm guessing it's not a mouse problem because it works with my new Macbook 12; I am guessing it is a Macbook Pro problem?
