    looking to back up macbook pro on an external drive connected to Asus router. If I use WD My Passport for Mac (2TB) should this work?

    Welcome to iMore! It should work just fine. Is it a dedicated Mac My Passport? Those are compatible with Time Machine, OS X's built-in system backup software. Otherwise you may have to download and install Western Digital's own backup software.

    I'm new to Mac and my MacBook.
    So, I have a 1TB Western Digital 3.0 USB drive. I should be able to use this with Mac's Time Machine, no?
