Which one should i buy?

I am deciding between a 15 inch retina display refurb 2.4ghz i7 quad-core, 256 flash drive, 8gb ram, and better memory card. From feb 2013.

My other option is a new 2015 13.3 inch mac book pro retina with same hard drive (256) and ram. However it has a 2.7 i5 dual core processor.

In canada after tax the new mac pro with those specs and the refurb will cosr the exact same nearly ~1900$. So which one is better.

I am just normal university student using it for those purposes. Web browsing, microsoft office, multiple tabs and pdf's open while powerpoint creating, movies etc.

Hi gtang and welcome to iMore.

Whilst the older refurb model is more powerful, the newer one should have more longevity. If you are not a power user, personally I would get the newer one.

Oh okay that is what I was wondering. I thought the refurb might be more "future proof" cause more power, but you think newer one better cause parts newer?
