I just bought my wife a refurbished MacBook Pro. I have camcorder videos from a windows laptop I want to transfer but they are some weird mts file. The MacBook doesn't play them. I need a video converter and don't mind buying a good app, any ideas?

Smart convertor from the App Store works great. Just drag the file into it and it does the rest. It's free but there is a paid version amar convertor 2 if u need something more. I only use the free one.

Alternatively try playing in vlc and then you don't need to convert
