problems with recent Mavericks update 10.9.5 on mid-2014 rMBP

So I recently bought the 2.6Ghz 128Gb model retina MacBook pro and 2 days later I'm experiencing lag when using my notebook. The only programs I loaded are pockets,chrome,evermore,Skype, autocard and shazam. Switching screens from desktop to dashboard I experience a crazy lag and also when I open programs and minimize them it lags. I'm assuming this is due to the newest update cause I didn't not experience this out of the box. Is this happening to anybody else? Any suggestions on how I can fix this cause I'm thinking of going back to Windows for good

I have a two week old pro retina with no lag issues at all. Personally I find the OS far superior to windows myself. I would call apple care they have helped me out twice already.

Spoke with an Amazon representatives and since it's still under warranty Amazon is gonna replace it but thanks
