What macbook pro should I get?

So im a little confused, i dont know what macbook should i get.

I want a macbook for:

surf the web
Do some school work like powerpoint, excel, word etc.
store music and pictures

This macbook i will probably have it for like 3 years so i wanna make sure the macbook i choose will last.

I really would like a macbook pro but the thing is that i`ve have been hearing that a new generation of retina macbook pros will be coming this fall so i wanna know your opinion if it is worth waiting for the next gen of macbooks.

Get the most RAM & largest Hard Drive combination your finances will allow... make RAM the priority.

Don't overlook the 12 hr battery life on the new MacBook Air.
I have a mid 2012 MBA with 8GB of Ram. I have only 128GB of HD but store all of my photos and music & most of my docs on Google
Light & razor thin.
Careful - max Ram is 8GB & can't add HD after you buy it.

As someone already stated, max the ram on either machine as it can't be changed afterwards. You could also use drop box so that not all your documents are stored locally.
