WWDC 2013: Slimmer Retina MacBook Pro w/1080P camera and MacBook Air microphone improvements expected | 9to5Mac

As with the writer, I?d prefer longer battery life over a thinner MBP. If the Haswell chip does lower power draw as much as rumored, I?d still prefer that Apple not cut the size/number of battery cells to produce a slightly thinner rMBP... keep the battery configuration the same, and thereby increase battery life.

The 1080p camera also sounds exciting...

We?ll know for sure next Monday (June 10).

Wonder how much of a price drop the last gen rMBP will get?

Can’t say, but typically, it’s a modest price drop... something on the order of $100-200. And typically, they only offer "closeout pricing" on existing inventory, so no CTO or other custom configs are available.

That's understandable, I mean 100-200 is still better than nothing lol.

FWIW:
They knocked off $100 on the MBA on Black Friday.
I see the savings to max out the RAM (8GB)
Who knows, you may get $200 off on the discontinued model.
Good Luck

I am looking to save as much as possible, since I will be using this mainly for my classroom and have enough saved for the current prices but who doesn't like saving a little extra money? lol

I'm intrigued what is coming...looking at the horizon, all i can see is the new processors, so I'm really hoping they have some tricks up their sleeve...maybe a long shot hope for cheaper SSD?

Anyone have any idea how long they will continue supporting the cMBP? I am more leaving towards that but if they are going to stop supporting it next year I may go towards the retina version.

The non retina MBP

What part of "The non retina MBP" is "c"? I’m not trying to argue or nit pick... but I just don’t get it...

I firmly believe that the non retina MBP will be around for quite a while... and it will continue to be "supported" for years to come. The MacBook has been out of production for several years... and is still "supported".

I just got my first MBP... Its not new, not even close. A 2009 2.66Ghz with 8gb ram and a 256gb SSD. It is fast as needed for what I will be doing with it. Only thing i like on the new ones is how much lighter they are.

Cant wait to see what is coming next week.
