    I have a MBP 13

    I have a 250 SSD drive.

I cannot figure out how to find hidden folders.

In my Users folder it shows 188 GB

When I tally up all the data in the folders within the Users folder it comes to 88 GB. I cant figure out where the 88 GB is ??

On an 250 GB system 100 GB is a lot of unaccounted space....

Anyone know where I can look ? Are there hidden folders ?

Do you run time machine? starting with Lion, TM does a hidden local backup when you are not connected to your TM drive. I think there's a way to turn this off but I don't remember what it is at the moment.

I use Omni Desk Sweeper sometimes on my macbook to check out where the storage is being hogged and i delete accordingly...it's free and pretty easy to use if you want something that can break it all down quickly and simply.
