    Hi,

I have a 2016 Mac Pro but want to upgrade to M2 when it arrives, and my son has the M1 Air.

We both want to build a two external monitor setup, not really for games but just to have more real-estate.

Can someone explain what I need as I am sure I need a display hub or something, especially for the M1.

Suggestions please - help please. If you want to suggest a monitor around 24inch that would be really helpful too.

    Thanks in Advance!

With the exception of the two monitors, you’re going to need a USB-C to HDMI/VGA adaptor/hub, depending on the specifications of the monitors.

The M1 MBA and MBP have a native limitation of only one external monitor, though there is a way to add a second. MacWorld had an article about this that should tell you what you need: https://www.macworld.co.uk/how-to/ho...1-mac-3799794/

We really don't know if any presumed future M2/M1X/whatever the next processor is called Macs are going to be able to do yet.
