Why cant i set up my finger print id?

My finger print id was working fine until i updated my mac book to the new macOS Big Sur. I have tried deleting my finger print id to set up a new one but now it wont let me add a new one . When i click on the + button, i enter my password but then nothing happens. Any ideas please ?

Have you tried contacting Apple Support for assistance? That would be my recommendation.

asbeer I am having the same problem as Emma. I have followed the instructions that you have included above, but I still can't register my fingerprint. Any other ideas?
