Swapping drive from one MacBook Air to another (same model)

I have a two month old MacBook Air (128 GB SSD) with liquid damage that killed the mother board. SSD seems untouched. Can I swap the drive from the prior machine to the new one which will be the same model? Or do I have to do a migration? As it won't boot, standard restore is not an option.

Great question, but one I cannot answer. I mean, with the typical computer, you'd have to exit the boot config, but I've never taken apart and iOS device to remove anything from inside. Heck, take both devices to the nearest Apple Store, explain the situation, and have them transfer the drive over.
