How can I open more than one site on Macbook Air when in Safari

trying to open multiple websites through Safari on Macbook Air but haven't used one before

You can click on the tab with the + sign in Safari. It may be hard to see as the tab width is fairly narrow.

Or you could go to File, and then choose from New Window or New Tab, if you want to try those options.
