Can't log in to App store on MBA

I recently purchased a refurb MBA from MacofAllTrades.com and am having trouble logging in to the App store. I get a message reading "Unknown error has occured." I've tried changing my password, creating a new account, and deleting the cookies and cache to no avail. HELP! I'm going crazy.

Do you have the original restore thumb drive? Was the MBA restored before you bought it? Since you got a refurb and not from Apple I would want to make sure everything is installed correctly.

I didn't recieve the thumb drive with the unit. I was told it would be fully resotred when it arrived.
