I have always wanted the Mac Pro black cylinder version, but after seeing the new black iMac Pro. That’s going to be my next business machine upgrade in January.

I haven’t seen the actual pricing for the different configurations, but will probably go with the basic model with the 32 gigs of ram and a 1 or 2TB SSD drive depending on the pricing.

Anyone heard when they think it will become available for preorder or purchase? I am excited about it and it’s looks killer being an all black iMac. Now it’s wait and see.

I’m not, but I don’t foresee buying another desktop in the near future.

I priced one out on apple dot com to match the specs I would want "out of the box" and the total came to $10K. If I had the money, maybe, but that does seem a hefty investment for an all-in-one. As of now I am more interested to see what the new Mac Pros will be about, the pricing on those, and so on.

Ironically perhaps, a friend had built a PC gaming rig in 1996 or so that set him back roughly $10K. That rig had the computing power of a low-end modern smart phone.
