I’m having Wi-Fi issues with my Mac Mini. Can you help me?
- First you need to clarify what is not working? Is it just the Wi-Fi or something else? If it’s the Wi-Fi then try disabling it, restarting your computer and then re-enabling it. In case of interference, try changing the SSID. Furthermore, you can disable the WI-Fi encryption to see if you can connect and if so, change the Wi-Fi passcode.beto100 likes this.03-15-2021 09:35 AMLike 1

- I have a tablet and I see all the wifi networks around here.
In Mac Mini settings it gets searching for networks and shows nothing.
I do not know why this. It never was like that.
You have technical knowledge or have already had a similar problem or someone you know has already presented this same situation.
Another thing!
Can my mini MAC upgrade how much memory?
And SSD can I put?
There's one more thing!
The Mac mini I have felt that it is a bit hot, how can I improve it.
It has a notebook base to cool.
Because he does not worry that I'm not running any program.
During system installing a little heats.
Do you know what it is?

The first idea that comes to mind is to run “Wireless Diagnostics” that is located (in macOS Big Sur) at /System/Library/CoreServices/Applications. It will take a while to run. If it prompts to monitor, you can just tell it continue as is (not monitor).
It should give you what it found, hoping it finds something useful. Here’s what my run suggested.
What would be interesting is to see if the computer can detect any defective components using the Diagnostics tool.
To do so, you will need to power off the MacMini, then power it on while pressing the “D” button on the keyboard. Keep pressing the button until you see the Apple logo or “Starting Internet Recovery.” If it asks you to choose a network, let’s see if any networks are found (double test); if it doesn’t find a network, you will need to run an Ethernet cable.
According to MacTracker, if you have a mid-2011 MacMini, Apple supported up to 8 GB of memory on that device.
The documentation on adding memory to the MacMini can be found at: https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT205041#three
Yes you can. This was not a supported upgrade by Apple however.
- Dust in the fan(s), or elsewhere in the system (the easiest)
- The mechanical hard drive working extra hard
- The thermal pad/paste on the CPU and GPU might have dried up.
Of course, some of these are not for the faint of heart. Assess your own level of comfort, based on your own knowledge.
It can be difficult to disassemble some Apple devices, so before doing so make sure you’re comfortable. I personally would not replace the thermal paste on an Apple device, because I’m not comfortable doing it on those devices.Last edited by Ed7789; 03-18-2021 at 08:08 PM. Reason: Spellcheck
03-18-2021 07:59 PMLike 2 - His clarifications were of great help.
She was thinking of diagonizing the Mac to see where it might be the problem.
With the handling situation I just opened to clean memory and cooler without taking it out.
Of the other pieces I do not compromise to do.
At the moment I can not take it to the coach.
Thank you so much!
A question!
What superhero do you admire?03-19-2021 02:16 PMLike 0 - Are you saying that you had already tried "Wireless Diagnostics"?
I'm not sure how this question relates to the other MacMini questions… Could it have been lost in translation, because characters like Superman (not my answer) have nothing to do with computers.03-20-2021 08:17 AMLike 0 -
